Some days grief is quiet… and other days it shows up out of nowhere and hits you right in the chest.

Today is one of those days.

No matter how much time passes, missing someone you love doesn’t just disappear. And that’s okay. It’s okay to pause, to remember, and to mourn the people who meant the world to us. 🤍

Today I’m missing my daddy.
He was my person. My steady place. His twin used to call me “Pumpkin,” and Daddy would always say, “How’s my Pumpkin?”

And after I’d talk his ear off about everything going on in life, he’d laugh and say, “Pumpkin… you know you’re the only one talking!”

There are so many things I wish I could tell him right now. So many things I want to ask him.

But I hold onto the promise that this separation isn’t forever. The Bible reminds us that a time is coming when God will be with us, and death, mourning, crying, and pain will be gone.

That promise in Revelation 21:3–4 feels closer than ever.

Why I became a hairstylist…

Ever since I was a little girl, I knew this was it.
I was cutting my Barbie’s hair (sorry, Barbies 😅) and playing with my Chrissy doll — the one where you could make her hair longer or shorter just by moving her arm.

I almost didn’t post this… because 2025 tried me in ways I didn’t expect.

Mentally, it was heavy. Anxiety and depression showed up, and because I’m high-functioning, most people never saw it. I still showed up. Still smiled. Still handled business. But behind the scenes? I was doing the work to survive and heal.

So this reel isn’t about perfection — it’s about perspective.

I’m deeply thankful for my small but mighty support circle, for prayers answered during scary medical moments, and for love shown through people when I needed it most. Jehovah’s care was felt through them 🤍

There was joy too. Traveling with my husband, unplugging, dancing, hiking a rainforest (something I never thought I could do), family vacations, and soaking up the most beautiful views. Spiritually fed through conventions and assemblies that reminded me who I am and whose I am.

I leveled up in big ways — moved into a beautiful new salon, built an incredible team of women, judged a fashion show, attended community conferences, invested in advanced color and business education, and FINISHED my first 5K in YEARS (speed loading for 2026 🏃🏽‍♀️).

I celebrated love at weddings and showers, enjoyed weekly date nights, family dinners full of laughs, gym sessions that saved my sanity, quiet mornings, self-care, and peace found in my garden.

And to my clients — thank you for trusting me with more than your hair. You are seen, valued, and loved.

2025 was hard. It stretched me. It taught me boundaries. It taught me that no is a full sentence.

But it also proved I can do hard things — and I’m walking into 2026 stronger, softer, and more intentional.
